My attempt to capture the George to Mossel Bay 'express' with Ansel-Adams-like (read: pleasant) tonality as it gently roars through Klein Brak Rivier station.
This must be one of the world's very few daily steam-operated services.
Well, Adams has written a couple of classic books on photography, and has helped to pioneer the Zone system, which is really just a set of guiding principles in visualising and exposing the image. The one I most closely follow is "expose for the highlights, process for the shadows". By doing just that with this image, I am pleased in the way it turned out, and feel that it has enough depth and tonality to be an interesting image...
